Constantiner Fellowship

Adrienne Garbini
Congratulations to Alexandra Diracles, our 2007 Constantiner Fellow!

Established in 2005, the Leon and Michaela Constantiner fellowship is a $3000 award that enables one graduating senior to pursue a project based in New York City.  Leon and Michaela Constantiner are important photography collectors interested in supporting young artists.

Graduating seniors with a minimum 3.0 grade point average are eligible to apply for the Leon & Michaela Constantiner fellowship.

In addition to the cash award, the winner will exhibit his/her project at Tisch one year later in the fall. Until their exhibition, grant recipients have access to the Photography and Imaging labs.

  1. 1-page proposal for a project based in and/or inspired by New York City.

  2. Application form

  3. Artist’s statement, no longer than a page and should address the works submitted

  4. ONE SET of 15-20 images of finished work samples with 5 copies of the Image List.
Work may only be submitted as CD/DVD (CD-ROM submissions must be Macintosh compatible. Images, which should be saved as JPEG files, must be 72dpi and no larger than 1200x1000.) Include any instructions for navigating digital submissions. The jury will also view up to 3 minutes of time-based work. It is important that the jurors are able to see the applicant’s capacity to execute the proposed project in the work samples.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: April 21, 2008

Submissions will be evaluated by a jury comprised of one alumnus of the department, and two outside professionals.  The recipients will be announced on May 15th during the BFA Thesis Exhibition Reception which is from 2:30 - 4:00PM. Dean Campbell will be joining us.

You may apply to this fellowship and the Rosenberg fellowship simultaneously, but each requires separate applications, proposals and copies of submitted work samples.
