Internship opportunities are important to the student as they begin to prepare for the start of their professional careers. We very much appreciate the participation of sponsors. It should be understood that this is a serious commitment for the student, in terms of tuition and as a demanding component of their semester's curriculum. Supervision from week to week is the key to a successful internship, as is the timely submission of evaluations, which are essential to the graduating process.
To offer an internship to Photography & Imaging students, complete the following steps:
- Complete the Sponsor's Application Form
- Return this form with a statement detailing the internship position and skills required. Include tear sheets, promotional visuals or other materials, which will inform the applicant about the proposed opportunity.
- Send all information to: Department of Photography and Imaging, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, 721 Broadway, 8th Floor New York, NY 10003 FAX: 212-995-4068 EMAIL: photo.tsoa@nyu.edu
Schedules
Typical commitments include Fall (September to mid December) and Spring (late January to early May) semesters. Each semester is 14 weeks. Internships are also possible during the summer session (mid May to June - 6 weeks) however students may not be available.
Time Frame / Position Selection
Students may begin looking for internships during the middle of the semester preceding the one in which internship placement is desired. Students choose from a listing of competing sponsors; therefore the more attractive the learning opportunity, the greater the likelihood of obtaining a strong candidate.
Registration
Complete and sign the Internship Agreement Form, which the student will supply.
